AC Shadows Unveils Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising collaboration that defies conventional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Uncovered
According to the official release, "A strange encounter leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of banned ceremonies and fearsome changes echo through the obscurity." The storyline features a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret group.
The mission centers on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Transformations
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser concludes with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Bonus Material
Players who finish the adventure will acquire an unique katana alongside several artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This release also brings the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This represents scarcely the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime properties. The series previously featured a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
